Spotify, for one, has made several unsuccessful attempts to integrate its own original video content into the platform. The somewhat surprising partnership appears to make strategic sense for both brands. And while this bundle is available exclusively to students right now, both companies hinted it may just the beginning of a broader rollout. It provides access to the commercial-free premium version of Spotify and the paid "Limited Commercials" version of Hulu for a fraction of what it would cost to subscribe to both of them separately (plans would cost $9.99 and $7.99 per month, respectively). For existing SHOWTIME subscribers, you’ll need to cancel any current plans and wait for them to expire before activating.The two streaming services announced the discounted subscription bundle, "Spotify Premium for Students, now with Hulu," on Thursday, marking the first-ever partnership between the companies. Hulu will automatically switch your billing to Spotify during the sign up, as long as you don’t have any Hulu Add-ons, and you pay Hulu directly and not through a third party. You can use an existing Hulu or SHOWTIME account, or create a new one when you activate the plan. Once your account has been verified, head to your services page to activate Hulu and SHOWTIME. New Premium members can currently get three months free until September 30th. Higher education students at Title IV accredited institutions in the US, above the age of 18 can subscribe to Spotify Premium Students here. Usually $10.99 per month, get hit originals and more, ad-free with SHOWTIME. Usually $5.99 per month, Hulu offers thousands of shows and movies. Usually $9.99 per month, Spotify Premium unlocks ad-free and offline music. For just $4.99 per month, Spotify Premium Students also get Hulu’s ad-supported plan and SHOWTIME at no extra cost.
